Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW +Some Inky Happenings + Snippets

Do you ever have days where you seem to go around in circles??
Well seem to be having a run of these days here… but none the less, it is Wednesday and need to do some joining around the desks of the world for WOYWW What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday … so head over to Julia’s - peek, learn and share - do!

Seems this morning's desk was here a couple of weeks back (see here)! Well, at the time was having problems with this stamp Embroidered background by Justrite stamping cleanly all over. Julia suggested I give the large stamp a light sand, which I did!
(Thanks, Julia, worked a treat) I also used my new tool which arrived this morning, so had to try it out with that – on right is the Compact Stamp Press by Fiskars and was hoping my background stamps would fit on it and they do –YAY!!!!! Use vertically as opposed to horizontally. It was super-uber cheap $13.69 (post included all way to Downunder), and came very quickly only two weeks! Inks used here are DI inks - Dusty Concord, Peacock feathers and fav. Weathered wood, with round tools. Stamped in versamark and with clear embossing powder. Piece top left from last week of Bokeh see post below.
As my WOYWW post was on Friday (!!) many of you probably missed it and is a great technique

A snippets’ card here.. the Edward Elephant image by Bugaboo was printed back a few months ago when made a 1st birthday card (see here). So cute, used SB square dies, and some baby DP had for ages now. The digi greeting matches heaps better than this image shows. It also has bit of 3D on the elephant and balloons, which also shows IRL.

A while back now had this MB Pietra die on my desk and was layering the narrow die to get a larger strip to use on a oval card. I formed an idea from Magpie’s card here. Used SB ovals like Magpie but centre die piece is totally different. Used also the CB Textile folder, Britannia favourite die Poinsettia, with Leaf Swirl die, and MB Pippi butterfly, CB Olivia alphabet die. Snippets used here .. that's why love dies - you can use snippets :D
Yay, off to the playground!

Here is the Aussie shot of the day, taken on my mobile some time back not in summer. I was here yesterday down at the jetty, right at this spot, having a lovely swim.. Water is beautiful at the moment as still up about 27 to 29c, perfect, so clear and clean too -and yes know am very blessed.
Before I close I would like to give a big welcome to a new wonderful encourager of this blog - Stephanie of Steph's scrappy happenings!

Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat .. will return your visit as soon as I can, as do love to see your work too.
God bless your day and those you love, wherever you may be.

Thanks for visiting my blog and your lovely comment.

Love both your cards, but my favourite is the white one. I have the Pietra die, but have never tried expanding he pattern. It looks beautiful behind the oval shape. Gorgeous design.

Oh Shaz, so much on your page to comment on, I love that wedding card, so elegant, a keepsake for the happy couple.
And that all over stamp with the blues and mauve, those colours seem to be the trend at present, and I have just put that Stamp Press by Fiskars on my shopping list for the show I going to in Birmingham, with Margaret, next week.
Thanks for dropping in at my page and for your prayers.
Bless you

Happy Wednesday Shaz. I think that lazy card is just beautiful with the leaves and butterfly. You are so talented. We've had some warm weather her in Wahington State too. Not as nice as yours but for March it's beautiful here.

Had to check out that bokeh. I did some in January using gesso for the whites and a TCW hexagon template ( don't have a circle one) it turned out much better than I first expected. Love the colours on yours!

I once told a friend that I was so far behind that I could see my bum up ahead for a while. I just love that large stamp and the Stamp Press seems pretty popular in my area. Your coloring of it just makes me drool! But your white card...oh my gosh is it gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your country with us, too! Happy WOYWW!

Hello Shaz. Seems ages since I got to your posting - sorry... The cards are lovely - I would never ever have thought of doing the inside of the oval with something different like that... bit slow on the uptake here!! Glorious sunny Aussie shot - no Welsh one this week I'm afraid. Not been anywhere. I have been getting the new church website done. The leaders came round today to check it all over - were pretty amazed at the amount of work, but happy with it. So, hopefully, it will go live soon! Yeah!!
Sorry you had such difficulties with my site. I think it may be something to do with Webeden, as our current church site is with them, too, and I have had difficulties getting into that recently.
Take care, my friend. Enjoy the glorious swimming weather you are having.
God bless.

Well I'm very glad that the light sanding worked..far better than a heavy tantrum!! I love the piece you're working on..that resist technique will never get old for me. I love the Bokeh you've achieved too, it looks really real. I would swim everyday if I could be by the sea...but possibly not in Britain!

I have just bought one of those Fiskars stamp presses. I was sceptical at first as to how well it would work. Have tried it and have to say I love it. No more stamping the sentiment in the wrong place and it gives a nice clear impression. Mine came all the way from USA and took about the same time to arrive too. Hugs Mrs A.

So much to comment on! Yes, I've seen that Fiskars press in other people's blog. It looks a very handy thing to have, especially for the big stamps.
I always love your aussie photos and this one is no exception. I also loved seeing the pineapple growing and finally being cut.
The bokeh technique is fab. I'm going to give it a go although I have no re-inkers. How did you use your distress pads? I also have no white ink but someone said she'd used gesso, so that sounds doable. I watched the video you linked and I really like it. Thanks for sharing that.
Thank you for visiting earlier in the week and for your kind comment.
Sorry I'm so late with this but the house we were staying in in Italy didn't have internet. My son does but we were not able to go to his house as the village was/probably still is completely snowed in. Wednesday morning I went to a coffee bar that had wifi and posted my little contribution.
I'm now back home and catching up on stuff, downloading (baby)photos and keeping the washing machine going.
Have a great week,
Lisca
