Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Bizzy Becs DT post - Watercolouring with Distress Inks.

 (WOYWW Post below this)

Hi there everyone, Am here with a another DT post for Bizzy Bec's - this time tutorial - watercolouring with distress inks.
Although this image came coloured I wanted to colour it. This I found was best way to colour any fine lined image, as no detail is lost! Plus Distress inks blend beautifully.
Smooched
Distress ink on white piece of laminated cardstock, or use a stamping block, with white paper under it so you can see colours.
Used two mauve/ purple, and three green with blue. DI Blue Denim was used on both purple and green for shadows.
So here is the completed image .. this was for a very special ladies birthday. I inked whilst the die cut still in Stitched Oval die with Distress inks in two greens, Peeled Paint, and Pine Needles. Cottage Cutz Stitched ovals  fit really well the largest of the Spellbinder Elegant Ovals.
I shaped the flowers as love the 3D look, although it doesn't really show that clearly - see here to show I do it. I did this with a single coloured layer.. a cheat's way :D
Completed card. All dies, etc, used listed below. Although looks like 80 is in different coloured mirri card it is not :D
Items Used:
 Spellbinder Elegant Ovals
Our Daily Bread Beautiful Border Dies.
(Available previously with Bec before, so check availability).
Dies on Small labels:
Greeting is a disc. Our Daily Bread Greeting set, and Cuttlebug disc. Olivia Alphabet set for numbers.

WOYWW + Nan's Cards ~ for her non-80th!!

Hi all! Popping in very quickly for a few links ups .. busy plus here!
(However want to say my thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering across the globe.
Reading on British Press - the floods in Bangladesh, 1/3 of the country is flooded!

Can you imagine what it's like to have a third of your country flooded?
Plus 100,000 houses destroyed!! On top of that they've floods of  Rohingya refugees fleeing from Myanmar (former Burma) and ethnic cleansing! Devastation with Irma, Mexican earthquakes, etc. Perhaps a reason for all this? See this post here.)
As it is Wednesday, I've also a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!
To my desk... probably can't share for few weeks, so thought better do so today!
Several... nay! three things on the go here! If you'd look on another table, you'd see a fourth!! (EEE-eek! she says.)
To right: Eamon's 2nd birthday on homeward run, his mother is very unwell (influenza A, very bad this year in Oz). No time for peeking so can share. Just have to touch up giraffe's adding some depth + greeting + age element.
Other items, kind of hidden are DT works, trying to get ahead. Hate always being behind. One is also for certain six year old's birthday too, top secret though, as they do peek, sometimes. Hope to catch up with both of these birthdays next week, God willing,
yay! :D Six year old will be wanting me to make "traditional pass the parcel" game too...
Now will explain the rest of the title of this post. My friend had what I thought was her 8oth birthday.. but dopey me :D made a booboo... it was her 79th! so that is why I call this Nan's non-80th birthday! I gave her half a dozen cards... published some before on here and her card is being published on 15th Sept as DT post.

A male card, made with Inkadinkado Standing Seagull INKA-99205-DD wood mounted stamp and Inspired by Stamping, Just for you set. Frame was from watercolour background, left over from another card. Didn't want to waste this bit, the image and card back stamped coloured for other cards and not used. Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with: Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed.
This card won second prize over at Bugaboo... won seven of Jodie's wonderful images!!!

Digi image pre-printed in stash from Ginny Maxam of Maxam Made, like wise greeting. Die cut and mounted them and embossed and card with Sue Wilson pinpoint waves(?) folder. H.B. stamp is from SU discontinued set.

Simple male card, Disc. S.U. DP, Verse and images are digis I had already printed up.
Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with:
Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed. Prayers set is available from Simon says.
Made with scrunched tissue technique see here - embossed it after scrunching, as shown on post. Dies are Memory box, both are disc. Stamp and die prayers set is by Hero Arts, on my packet. Simon Says brand on one I bought as gift, so bit confusing, slightly different sizes, too.
To the Aussie shots. On my walk yesterday was the sunset, taken rather late.. but out most of the day. The begonia below is real and so is the maiden hair fern, my sister has them growing beautifully and we had a lovely BBQ out there yesterday. Our 88 year old dad loved it!
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Will do my very best in commenting, and truly appreciate your visits more than words can say.

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God , that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord :".Amos 8:11
This verse is a sign of the times for today.
Very sadly folks rather hear and heed the words of men, instead of hearing and heeding the words of the Lord, our Heavenly Father, Who loves us all.

Darkroom Door Stamping on Acetate + Alcohol Inks - Bizzy Bec's DT post

Warning... lo-oong post, details plus photos, some "how NOT to do it",too!

Hullo there everyone .. back again with another DT post for Bizzy Bec's. I am revisiting the Darkroom Door stamp set Sail Away (check out Bec's amazing prices) .. with acetate!
Here's a peek!
I'm a great fan of Loll from "Stamping with Loll". Saw this post using acetate + alcohol inks.
And really wanted to do it with this gorgeous Darkroom Door Stamp set called Sail Away from Bizzy Bec's.
Had an idea! just needed to get past the hiccups on the way. Tried it first as shown on video linked on Loll's post. However, a video can be a problem with the memory bank..  forgot step with brayer/ rubber roller. A mistake, inks didn't blend at all, were blobby.
I'm not sure why, but her inks on acetate spread lot more than mine. Decided to change colours too ..

Saving acetate for another attempt, will use the base, see top left, for another card one day, have an idea for it.. waste not, want not..
So tried it way Loll said she did it, except she stamped afterwards, I'm stamping before.
1. Using sailing ship stamp from Darkroom Door set, embossed two - one in gold, one black and two blank. (**on video the lady uses a dryer anti static cloth to prevent embossing powder go anywhere but on inked image, this is best too I found).
2. Then added the alcohol inks on the back of randomly, I also added Adirondack blending solution so my blobby inks would blend easier.

Used Alcohol turquoise, Cobalt like blue, Silver and Pearl.
I also added two dye inks, SU purple and soft blue. I have mixed ink types before, usually work just fine.
Have very few re-inkers of various types and often mix them.
I mixed them around with scrunched up plastic or cling wrap.
Left once an interesting pattern and colour combo. Allowed to dry well.
Loll didn't do it with cling wrap, but I didn't want blobs from my blobby ink! 😊
3. Loll also used spray adhesive for attaching the crumpled tissue paper. I like my spray adhesive, so tried it, but mine was not a good hold on the acetate.
So tried the video technique of layering glue (mixed PVA and Tacky craft glue) on back of dried alcohol ink.
4. Added the crumpled tissue over it all, then relaid the plastic wrap and ran my brayer over the top to make sure it really adhered well.
 Finally happy.
Persistence paid off in droves. Have three other bits to play with, two plain.
Had funny accident with black ship image, accidentally added inks to the side that was stamped and embossed. It took some of image off randomly and left some. I looked at it and thought it looks just like a ship in a fog. I could reuse it like that, or re-stamp it on top using a positioning acetate sheet as guide, or lay a verse greeting over that part.
Will do this technique, again. Now to my card, fairly simple actually.

Die cut the acetate image after backing it with card stock with Spellbinders Labels 25. Added a hand cut gold base to it.
Used two sheets of DP I bought on Thursday after my fourth specialist dentist appointments (big pennies there), spent few pennies at the only craft shop within coo-ee, ie about 30 mins north, round corner from dentist. 😊

First Sun in Sept. is our Father's Day in Oz, so all this persistence was for my darling 88 y.o. dad.
He's worth it .. and much more.

Used the Sizzix Lattice folder on base card. Gold embossed greeting is from very old set called SU Wonderful Woodcuts, only Father's stamp I own. Used top and bottom portion of greeting on stamp (there is an image in between), with Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it it up. Took a couple of goes.
Hessian or frayed burlap across the card, an anchor which was sitting on bookcase next to my cutting machine, for no reason!!
Someone had given them to me. Perfect eh?
God is very good.
So relieved this card finally turned out just as I'd hoped.
Hope you like it too and the step by steps may help someone out there.

Aussie shot from South Australia, they are having more rain down there, than we are ... taken by our local church's evangelist when visiting there - Fraser Young - his site here.
